LiteracyVolunteers Fox Valley is offering free training for Davis parents who want to help other Davis parents understand English more effectively. The four-session workshop teaches methods to tutor adults while discussing the issues people face when they have little knowledge of the American culture.

You don't have to have a background in education or a second language to help. Adult learners say that the best tutors are patient, listen and give simple instructions.

Once you are trained you will meet with one parent for one hour per week at Davis School or another public location that is convenient. You will receive ongoing support from LVFV's staff.
